Introduction:

This top-notch linen fabric comes to you in a superb fancy weave with a classic windowpane design. A delicate pink tone makes this fabric an ideal choice for a multitude of indulgent and stylish sewing room projects to take you throughout spring and summer with serious style.

A new addition to the website and manufactured by the same renowned European company as our summer Linens of '21 & '22. These fabrics are the same superior quality and with an assortment of even more colours, designs and natural fibre types. Natural fibre lovers, this is for you!

The 'suiting style' influenced -checked fabrics convey an air of designer confidence and style. This perennial go-to design is ideal for understated elegance and key pieces.

Colour:

Delicate pink (like an impressionist sunset) and hints of fresh white are accentuated with fine lines of black (in the windowpane check) and expertly woven together throughout the warp and weft in classic cool linen and viscose yarns. This marvellous combination is perfect for chic ensembles. Alternatively, combine with its siblings for artistic pastel colour-blocked styles.

Properties:

Linen has been used for centuries because of its beneficial properties; cool and breathable, gets softer with washing & wear and linen is impervious to moths and resists dirt and stains. Linen will not form lint or pill and can be washed at high temperatures with only moderate shrinkage (approx 4%).

The characteristic slubs (once viewed as a fault) are now part of the aesthetic appeal of quality linen fabric.

Sunset Sketch is stable, and lightly textured, with the reassuring naturally absorbent and comfortable feel of classic linen garments, lightly textured and will soften with washing and wear. This lightweight fabric is predominantly closely woven with a feature of fancy open weave areas that glisten with the silken sheen of the viscose fibres, creating an almost French couture style perfect for Channelling your inner designer!!

Garment Suggestions:

Sunset Sketch will form crisp details (with a little light interfacing), on collars, cuffs and waistbands. Used in quantity it will form soft and full feminine gathers, plus neat pleats with a reassuring drape. All you have to do is decide what to make.

Make a wardrobe full of key pieces for a superb, summer linen look. Its perfect hand makes it the ideal candidate for many uses, from classic shirts to soft and flowing dresses.

Pleated culottes, shorts and short versions of trousers- like our Pattern Stash Cordelia Trousers will look superb in this versatile linen fabric.

For soft feminine styling, the Layer Up Collection by Sew Different is ideal for creating a capsule wardrobe of fresh spring-summer linen and (linen blend) makes you will want to take through into autumn. Team with the sibling fabrics for a perfect pastel combo or sit alongside delicate floral shirting cotton fabrics, Toile de Jouy and stripes for artistic pattern-blocked creations.

Put Sunset Sketch to use for simple tops and classic shirts-overshirts and shirt dresses, with a twist it's also perfect for creating layering garments such as tunics and pinafore dresses. The Sew Different - Tulip Dress and Triple Tuck Smock are ideal candidates for this type of look.

Team this versatile pink linen and viscose fabric with others from the range for a totally complimentary wardrobe in cool and breathable natural fibres.
